Continue ReadingThis week has been a massive learning curve for me, my 5 year old daughter has been embroiled in the classic girl dynamic of being left out and trying to stay in the heart of the group. For the last 3 weeks she has been getting increasingly upset and relaying tale after tale of being isolated, lonely, friendless and picked on. It's been heart breaking. The advent of MRSA and swine flue seem to have created a huge market for anti bacterial products. The vast majority of high street anti bacterial products contain chemical triclosan. Now the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is reviewing the safety of triclosan, a not only widely used antibacterial agent found in soap, but also toothpaste and a range of other consumer products. Triclosan is an ingredient in a growing list of products, including toys, latex paint, clothing, soaps, and cosmetics, to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi and mildew.
