The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has concluded that there is no convincing evidence to cause it to ban or further restrict exposure to the controversial chemical BPA used in plastic bottles and containers. Despite evidence of links to breast cancer, the EFSA has disappointingly taken the decision against restricting or banning bisphenol-A (BPA), saying there is not convincing evidence of the toxicity of BPA. This comes despite the fact that countries such as Taiwan, Canada, Denmark, Sweden and France have all branded BPA as toxic and hazardous to health.

These days we know that using a sunscreen helps to protect our skin from harmful UV radiation from exposure to the sun. However recent studies are now questioning the safety of some chemicals used in sunscreens. In addition to this there are reports of us suffering from increasing vitamin D deficiency, the skin synthesizes this vitamin when exposed to the sun.
