Technology gone too far? New app allows parents to read their kids bedtime stories remotely

New app for the iphone and ipad Storytime (£2.39) has just been launched as a way of singing or reading your child's bed time story even if you are still at work. Could this be the answer for all those guilt ridden parents stuck behind the office desk as their children nod off? Parents can speak to their child through a microphone and can make pages of the book move using a touch screen.

Japan’s health ministry suspended the use of pediatric vaccines made by Pfizer Inc. (PFE) and Sanofi-Aventis SA after reports of four deaths following immunizations. The use of Pfizer’s Prevenar, to vaccinate against meningitis and pneumonia, and Sanofi’sActHIB, to fight Haemophilus influenzae type b, will be suspended until at least tomorrow, when a safety panel will meet to discuss the cause of the deaths.

Since the banning of BPA in baby products many are looking for ways to cut down their families use of plastics and exposure to BPA. Problem is as parents we have become reliant on 'tupperware' (apparently the biggest non food product sold at ASDA). Quite rightly we are encouraged to make use of left overs and what better way to do that by using stacks of plastic containers. However, this is followed up by warnings about storing and cooking food in plastic, and hormone disruption associated with BPA leaking into our food stuffs. So confusing!!
