Paul McCartney recently urged us all to go without meat on Mondays in an effort to save the planet. Its a straight forward argument that has also been backed up by Lord Stern, senior authority on climate change, who recently warned that eating meat could become as socially unacceptable as drink-driving because of the impact it has on global warming. "Meat is a wasteful use of water and creates a lot of greenhouse gases. It puts enormous pressure on the world's resources. A vegetarian diet is better," Stern said. (The Guardian, 26th Oct). So, if vegetarian is better for the earth, how do mums go about applying this to kids meals whilst making sure they are getting enough protein.
